ANVtower stands for : Annanagar  Visweswarayya Tower, The tower was built for the International Industrialists meet, located in downtown Annanagar. Boat rides and cool attractions, its adventure, relaxation, and fun for everyone in the family. mini play ground for kids and  thrills for all ages the 11story majestic tower in the middle the park by itself is one of the largest attraction in the city. Fees for climbing up the spiral stairs which lead to the top of the tower is Re.1 (it still is). The Re.1 which you pay is an under-price for the excellent exercise you get when u climb up the winding steep ramp all the way to the top and the beautiful look of Anna Nagar’s skyline. The last entry is at around 6 PM). The setting sun, the skyline and the steady soothing breeze will have a mystical effect on you.

 

The tower park is huge, should easily cover around 20 – 25 acres of land. Most of the area was covered with overgrown trees. Now the park has strict timings. It opens by I guess 4:30 – 5:00 am and closes by 10:30 am. Then it re-opens back by 4:00 pm and remains open till 6:30 – 7:00 pm, in the weekends the tower is open bit longer in the evening. 10:30 am & 4:00 pm.

 

Annanagar city is the largest planned colony in Asia. It’s so well-planned and well-connected that people get lost here very easily. Seriously enough, it’s not easy to find anything here due to the sheer expanse of the place.Annanagar was built on the same grounds that hosted the World Trade Fair in the 70s. It quickly went on to become one of the hottest residential locations in Madras. It’s one of those places in Madras that’s purely residential and is a very good prospect for a lifetime, if you can afford it. Another unique thing about Annanagar is that there are very few apartment buildings, what you normally see is one of those 4-in-1 MIG blocks or Government-built apartments. There are very few private apartment blocks, simply because big plots of land were never sold.
